Nima Ghalichechian joined the Georgia Institute of Technology as an assistant professor in August 2021. Before joining Georgia Tech, he was an assistant professor at The Ohio State University from 2017 to 2021, where he established the RF Microsystems Laboratory and led research on millimeter-wave antennas and arrays.

Ghalichechian earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology in Iran in 2001. He earned a master's degree and a doctorate in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 2005 and 2007, respectively, where his research focused on electrostatic micromotors.

From 2007 to 2012, Ghalichechian worked in the research department at FormFactor Inc. in Livermore, California, as a senior principal engineer. During that time, he helped design and develop microsprings for advanced probe cards used to test memory and system-on-chip devices. In 2012, he joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the ElectroScience Laboratory at Ohio State as a research scientist. From 2016 to 2017, he served as a research assistant professor.

Ghalichechian is an associate editor for IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters. His honors include the Ohio State College of Engineering Lumley Research Award (2018), the National Science Foundation CAREER Award (2019), the U.S. Air Force Faculty Summer Fellowship Award (2019) and the Ohio State ECE Excellence in Teaching Award (2020).
