The Institute for Matter and Systems (IMS) supports interdisciplinary research in nationally recognized areas of need as well as those that are just emerging. IMS supports researchers from the ground up: from seed funding for new research initiatives to infrastructure support for research programs and embedded support for research centers. We help researchers cut across the colleges and schools at Georgia Tech to form the convergent teams needed to solve the world's most challenging problems.
