Schedule a visit

The Institute for Matter and Systems (IMS) offers a variety of programs for schools, groups, and teachers. Please read below about the types of activities we offer and email us if you are interested in participating in one of our programs.

Student Groups

For student groups, we provide programs that introduce students to nanotechnology through lectures, hands-on activities, demonstrations, and tours. Because of space and personnel limitations, we can only accommodate student groups of up to 40 per visit. We recommend that you plan a visit of two hours. We are also available to make presentations at your school. For this program, we will be providing lectures, hands-on activities, and demonstrations.

Teachers

For teachers, we provide workshops on how to include nanotechnology in secondary science classrooms. We offer workshops ranging in duration from two hours to two days. Workshops can be at a school, district, RESA, or here at Georgia Tech. We present lessons that are tied to science topics currently taught in science classrooms and tied to Georgia Performance Standards. Workshops can accommodate up to 35 teachers.
